Helical Solar

Expeditionary Hybrid Solar Microgrid

Extend generator to five 9's reliability (99.999%) uptime while minimizing fuel consumption/recurring maintenance and mitigating fuel shortage events.

Why it mattersOur expeditionary hybrid microgrid is 45% more productive with dual-axis solar, dense battery storage, and efficient inverter/chargers that can replace 15-60kW fueled generators. Our ruggedized solution can provide commercial 3-phase power at remote locations while solving energy challenges currently faced by the military, agriculture, entertainment, and EV/Advanced-Air-Mobility charging industries.

About

Problem

Expeditionary Energy, particularly 15-60KW AMMPS generators in a contested logistics environment such as INDOPACOM can suffer from environmental induced failures, parts shortages, and fuel resupply disruptions. Without continuous commercial grade power, modern military missions and the personnel that execute them are put in jeopardy.

Solution

With hot plug-and-play capability, we can seamlessly insert our high powered microgrid with an optimized dual-axis solar array between existing AMMPS generators and their loads to minimize run time and fuel consumption while also sustaining power during unplanned fuel shortages.

Field Validation

Prototype field tested at Tyndall AFB AFCEC (9700 Site). Technology Maturity (TRL): TRL = 7 (Tyndall AFCEC field prototype demonstration). Strategic Advantage 2x U.S. Patents Issued and 1x Pending; Trade Secrets; Integration depth.

Strategic Advantage

BoxPower, Southern Beams Builds, Sesame Solar, Beam Global – do not have a foldable, transportable dual-axis array or microgrid architecture that can allow “man-in-the-middle” insertion between generators and loads.
